Reflexology... |
The physical act of applying pressure to the feet with specific thumb, finger, and hand techniques based on a system of zones and areas that reflect an image of the body on the feet, with a premise that such work effects a physical change in the body.
Reflexology is the study and practice of applying pressure techniques to pressure sensors in the feet. These pressure techniques serve to relax pressure sensors in the feet (foot stress) to interrupt stress patterns between various body parts (reflex stress), and to trigger a relaxation response throughout the body (body stress).
The goals of reflexology are to condition and exercise the nervous system so that it will respond in a better manner to the demands of the day. |
